The 1982/83 OHL season was the 3rd season of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds won the Hamilton Spectator Trophy as the best point team of the regular season , but were defeated in the playoff final by the Oshawa Generals , who thus secured their ninth J. Ross Robertson Cup .
Changes
The Guelph Platers were accepted into the OHL and increased the number of teams to 15. In addition, the Niagara Falls Flyers were relocated to North Bay , where they henceforth traded as North Bay Centennials .
