Nicolas James "Chuck" Kobasew (born April 17, 1982 in Osoyoos , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played 645 games for the Calgary Flames , Boston Bruins , Minnesota Wild , Colorado during his active career between 2000 and 2016 Avalanche and Pittsburgh Penguins played in the National Hockey League on the right winger position .

The 1.88 m tall winger began his career on the Boston College team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's game operations before being selected ( drafted ) 14th in the first round by the Calgary Flames during the 2001 NHL Entry Draft . In the final series of the 2001 NCAA ice hockey championship, the Frozen Four , Kobasew was voted Most Valuable Player .

His first NHL bets graduated the right shooter in the 2002-03 season , the lockout 2004/05 he spent at the Lowell Lock Monsters in the American Hockey League . Kobasew scored 75 points in 79 games and became the new captain of the Lock Monsters during the season . He was also appointed to the Canadian team of the AHL All-Star Classic . In January 2006, Chuck Kobasew scored in the game of his Calgary Flames against the Colorado Avalanche , the first NHL hat trick of his career, but a year later he was transferred to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau .

On July 1, 2011, Kobasew signed a two-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche . After this contract expired, he was signed by the Pittsburgh Penguins in October 2013 as a free agent for one year.

In July 2014 he signed a two-year contract with SC Bern of the National League A . During Bern's 2015/16 championship season, he was only used in ten games. He suffered a concussion in October 2015 in a clash with a referee. The Canadian then ended his active career.

International

For the Canadian junior national team , Chuck Kobasew played the U20 World Cup in 2002 , scoring five goals and one assists in seven games .
