The Canadian U-20 ice hockey team represents the Hockey Association of Canada in Hockey in the U20 junior power level in international competitions. She became world champion in her age group in 1982 , 1985 , 1988 , 1990 , 1991 , 1993 , 1994 , 1995 , 1996 , 1997 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2015 , 2018 and 2020 , making her the record world champion.

The Canadian U20 national ice hockey team was founded in 1974 on the occasion of the first unofficial hosting of a junior world championship . Initially, club teams competed as a national team, so in 1974 the Peterborough Petes from the Ontario Hockey League represented their home country and won the bronze medal. Canada has only been participating in the title fights with a real selection of associations since 1977. At the 1987 World Cup , the Canadian team was disqualified as well as the Soviet selection by the world association. Previously, the game of both teams had been abandoned seven minutes before the end due to a mass brawl in which all the players but also the coaches and supervisors took part.

Up to and including 1998, the U20 national team covered the entire junior area at the world championships. Since the introduction of the U18 World Championships in 1999 , Canada's U20 national team has only represented the U20 junior level at world championships.

The Canadian U20 national team is the most successful in the world to date and is in first place in the all-time medal table following the 2015 U20 World Cup with 16 world championship titles, eight silver and five bronze medals. It was initially until the ninth World Cup before the Canadians became world champions for the first time in Minneapolis in 1982 . From 1993 to 1997 the Canadians were able to win the world championship five times in a row.
