history

The selection of Croatia in Division II of the U20 World Cup 2009 in Spain.

The team that emerged from the former Yugoslav selection has been taking part in ice hockey world championships since 1993 . Up to and including 1998, the U20 national team covered the entire junior area at the World Championships, while the U19 national team took part in the Junior European Championships. Since the U18 World Championships were introduced in 1999 , the Slovenian U20 national team has only represented the U20 junior level at world championships.

At the Junior World Championship in 1996 , the promotion to the C group of the World Championships was achieved for the first time. After the changeover to the current division system, the move to Division I followed in 2002 , where the team from the Balkans was not able to establish itself permanently. The Croatians only played four years in a row in Division I from 2010 to 2013. Since relegation in 2013, the team has been commuting between the A and B groups of Division II.
