The games of the 18th Junior A World Championship in 1994 took place from December 26, 1993 to January 4, 1994 in the Czech Republic . The B group was played in Bucharest , Romania , the qualification for the C World Cup in Nitra and Nové Zámky , Slovakia , and the C group in Esbjerg and Odense , Denmark .
A total of 24 teams took part, plus four other teams that had failed in the qualification. Due to North Korea's waiver in the C group, two qualifiers were able to take part in the C World Cup. The U20 selection of Canada was world champion for the seventh time .
A world championship
The Junior World Championships were held from December 26, 1993 to January 4, 1994 in Frýdek-Místek and Ostrava in the Czech Republic . The games took place in the Víceúčelová sportovní hala (6,000 seats) and in the Palác kultury a sportu (10,000 seats).
Eight national teams took part, playing in a group in the mode of everyone against everyone and thus each completed seven games. The Canadian team became world champions in this age group for the second time in a row and a total of seventh times with six wins and one draw against Sweden and Russia. The decisive factor for winning the title was the 6-4 victory in the final group game against Sweden.
Venues
The A group of the World Championship was held in Frýdek-Místek and Ostrava .
mode
Male players under the age of 20 were allowed. Eight teams took part, each of whom competed once against each group opponent in a joint group. World champion became the group winner. The last was relegated to the B World Championship.
