Kostyantyn Mikolajowytsch Symtschuk ( Ukrainian Костянтин Миколайович Симчук , Russian Константин Николаевич Симчук / Konstantin Nikolayevich Simtschuk * 26. February 1974 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Ukrainian ice hockey player who most of his career at HK Sokol Kiev was under contract. He is currently the assistant coach of Generals Kiev in the Ukrainian ice hockey league .

Career

Kostjantyn Symtschuk began his career as a hockey player in his hometown, where he was active from 1993 to 1997 for HK Sokol Kiev in the Russian Super League and the East European Hockey League . The goalkeeper then spent four years in North America , where he played for Las Vegas Thunder in the International Hockey League , the Port Huron Border Cats , Knoxville Speed and the Fort Wayne Komets in the United Hockey League , as well as the Tacoma Sabercats , Bakersfield Condors and San Diego Gulls was active in the West Coast Hockey League . In the summer break of 1999 he also played in the professional inline hockey league Roller Hockey International for the Las Vegas Coyotes. The 2000/01 season he ended at his ex-club HK Sokol Kiev, for which he was only used once in the Eastern European Hockey League.

From 2001 to 2008 Symchuk was continuously under contract in the Russian Super League. During this period he played for HK Spartak Moscow , Salawat Julajew Ufa , HK Sibir Novosibirsk , HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , HK MWD Tver and HK CSKA Moscow . For the 2008/09 season he was committed by his ex-club from Novosibirsk for the first edition of the newly founded Continental Hockey League and stood with a goal average of 3.69 in a total of only 13 games between the posts. The following season he bridged in his Ukrainian homeland at HK Sokol Kiev, who had meanwhile been accepted into the Belarusian extra league . For the 2010/11 season , the 2002 Olympic participant initially joined the newly founded HK Budiwelnik Kiew from the KHL. After this could not start the game due to delays in the stadium renovation, Symchuk stayed with Sokol Kiev in the Extraliga, where he ended his career in 2013.

International

For Ukraine , Symtschuk took part in the junior division of the U20 Junior C World Championship in 1993 and the U20 Junior B World Championship in 1994 . In the senior sector, he competed for his country at the C-World Championships in 1996 and 1997 and, after switching to the current division system, at the World Championships in Division I in 2009 , when he achieved the second-best catch quota after the Italian Thomas Tragust , in 2010 and 2011 as well as the top division 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 and 2006 . He was also in the Ukraine squad for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver .

Coaching

After his active activity Symtschuk hit the coaching career. At the World Championships in Division I in 2014 and 2015 , he acted as the goalkeeping coach of the Ukrainian selection. Since 2015 he has been the assistant coach of Generals Kiev in the Ukrainian ice hockey league .
