The Las Vegas Thunder are a former ice hockey team that was active in the International Hockey League . The club was founded in 1993 and disbanded six years later, in the summer of 1999. The club colors are turquoise, black, silver and white. They played their home games at the 16,000-seat Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas . The official mascot was a polar bear named Boom-Boom .

The club was founded in 1993 and played in the International Hockey League from then on. In the seasons 1993/94 and 1995/96 the club was able to occupy first place in the main round. However, he did not succeed in winning the Turner Cup , the championship of the IHL. The best season in the club's history was 1995/96, when the team had a record of 57 wins, 17 defeats and eight draws at the end of the main round. In 1999 the association was dissolved. The Las Vegas Wranglers from the ECHL in Las Vegas are now playing in his place .

The Las Vegas Thunder had several partnerships with various teams, including with the Phoenix Coyotes from the National Hockey League and the Russian first division club Lokomotive Yaroslavl .
