The Cleveland Lumberjacks are a former ice hockey team that was active in the International Hockey League . The club was founded in 1992 and dissolved in 2001. The club colors are blue, gold and black. The Lumberjacks played their home games between 1992 and 1994 in the Coliseum at Richfield and from 1994 in the 20,000-seat Gund Arena in Cleveland .

history

When the Muskegon Lumberjacks moved to Cleveland in 1992, the Cleveland Lumberjacks were founded and played in the International Hockey League from then on. In the first season in the IHL, the Lumberjacks reached the first round of the play-offs, which was lost. After qualification for the play-offs in the 1993/94 season was not achieved, only the first round could be achieved in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons. In 1997 the club celebrated the greatest success in the club's nine-year history, when the Lumberjacks got into the third play-off round. In the summer of 2001 the Cleveland Lumberjacks were dissolved.
