The Lansing Lancers were an American ice hockey franchise of the International Hockey League based in Lansing , Michigan . The Lancers' venue was the Metro Ice Arena .

history

The Lansing Lancers were founded in 1974 as a franchise of the International Hockey League . Due to the moderate sporting success, the Lancers had to fight early on with a low average attendance and the resulting financial problems. Even during their first season, in the 1974/75 season, those responsible were forced to withdraw the team from ongoing game operations and dissolve the franchise. At the time of their last game in the IHL - after 41 of 70 game days - Lansing was in sixth and thus last place in the East Division, having previously collected 25 points.
