The Marion Barons were an American ice hockey franchise of the International Hockey League based in Marion , Ohio . The venue was the Veterans Memorial Coliseum .

history

The club was founded in 1953 and played one season in the International Hockey League. They were able to finish this after the main round with 40 wins and 24 defeats in second place. The team was then disbanded in 1954. They were a farm team from the Cleveland Barons , who were then active in the American Hockey League .

Four players who were under contract with the Marion Barons made it into the National Hockey League : Armand Delmonte , Ehrhardt Heller , Johnny Ingoldsby and Tony Poeta .
