history

The Sarnia Sailors were founded in 1949 and played in the International Hockey League. In their first season, the Sailors were able to reach the play-off final for the IHL championship. However, this was lost. The club was active for another season in the IHL before moving to the OHA Senior A League in 1951 and playing there until 1954. In the summer of 1954, the club was dissolved after a disappointing 1953/54 season, in which the Sailors could only get eleven points after the main round.
