The Muskegon Mohawks were an American ice hockey franchise of the International Hockey League based in Muskegon , Michigan . Their home venue was the LC Walker Arena .
history
The Muskegon Mohawks continued the game operation of the Muskegon Zephyrs in the International Hockey League in 1965 . In the 1967/68 season, the Mohawks took first place after the main round of the IHL and thus qualified for the play-offs. There the final could be reached, which the club won with 4-1 victories against the Dayton Gems . The following year the Mohawks played again in the final against the Dayton Gems, but this time lost 3-0. Another final participation followed in the 1971/72 season. However , the Muskegon Mohawks could no longer win the Turner Cup , the championship of the IHL. In the summer of 1984 the franchise was renamed Muskegon Lumberjacks .
