The Detroit Metal Moldings were an American ice hockey franchise of the International Hockey League based in Detroit , Michigan .

history

The club was founded in 1946 as a franchise of the International Hockey League . In addition to the Detroit Auto Club and Detroit Bright's Goodyears , the team was the third team from the Autostadt Detroit, which was accepted into the IHL. The team, which ran under the name Detroit Jerry Lynch in the last year of its existence, achieved its greatest success in the 1948/49 season when it reached second place in the North Division. Nevertheless, the franchise was dissolved together with city rivals Detroit Bright's Goodyears following the season. The void left by both teams was filled by the Detroit Hettche , who played in the IHL from 1949 to 1952.
