The Detroit Auto Club was an American ice hockey franchise of the International Hockey League based in Detroit , Michigan . The home of the Auto Club was the Olympia Stadium .

history

The club was founded in 1945 as a franchise of the International Hockey League , of which he was one of four founding members. The team from the Autostadt Detroit won the Turner Cup in their very first season after beating their city rivals Detroit Bright's Goodyears 2-1 in the best-of-three series in the final . Subsequently, the Auto Club could no longer build on this success. Although they finished second in the regular season in the 1949/50 season, the franchise was no longer in the final of the Turner Cup until it was dissolved in 1951.
