Sean Tallaire (born October 3, 1973 in Steinbach , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has had German citizenship since 2008.

Career

Sean Tallaire began his professional career in 1992 at Lake Superior State University , for whose ice hockey team he was on the ice for four years in the NCAA game operations . The winger was drawn in the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 in 202nd place by the Vancouver Canucks , but he has not yet been used in the best league in the world. Instead, he played mainly in the IHL for various teams from 1996 to 2001 . The greatest success at this time was reaching the second play-off round with the Cleveland Lumberjacks in the 1997/98 season.

Since 2001 Tallaire has played in the German Ice Hockey League for four different clubs. The Canadian spent his first year with the Iserlohn Roosters , after which he played for three years at ERC Ingolstadt , interrupted by a year with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers . With the Ingolstadt team, the attacker reached the semi-finals of the play-offs in the 2003/04 season . For the 2006/07 season , Tallaire signed a one-year contract with the Kölner Haien , where he headed for a new personal scoring record in the DEL after about half of the season, but then tore a cruciate ligament and had to pause the remaining games . After his recovery, the Canadian received a one-year contract with the Haie for the following season and was runner-up with the team in 2008. Tallaire received a German passport in summer 2008 and has not held a foreign position since then.

For the 2008/09 season , the winger moved to league rivals Kassel Huskies .
