Anders Myrvold (born August 12, 1975 in Lørenskog ) is a Norwegian ice hockey player ( defender ) who was last under contract with Frisk Asker in the GET league until 2011 .
Player career
Ander Myrvold started his career in the youth department of Furuset IF . From there he moved to Storhamar IL , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Norwegian Eliteserien in the 1991/92 season . He then joined the youth department of the Swedish club Färjestad BK , for whose professional team he was also used in the Swedish Elitserien in the 1992/93 season . In the 1993 NHL Entry Draft , the left-handed shooter was finally selected as the 127th in the fifth round by the Québec Nordiques . First, however, he spent the 1993/94 season in the second Swedish division, Division 1, at Gurums IK . In the 1994/95 season he played for the Titan de Laval in the Canadian Junior League QMJHL , where he was able to excel with 78 points, including 18 goals, in a total of 84 games. He was then elected to the all-rookie team of the QMJHL and the Canadian Hockey League .
His first appearances in the National Hockey League Myrvold finally completed in the 1995/96 season for the Colorado Avalanche , for whose farm team Cornwall Aces he had previously played in the American Hockey League . For the 1996/97 season , the defensive man moved to the Boston Bruins , but even here he could not prevail and played mainly for their AHL farm team Providence Bruins , so that he finally returned to Sweden in 1998. After three years at Djurgårdens IF and AIK Solna , Myrvold moved back to North America, where he was on the ice for the New York Islanders and their farm team Springfield Falcons .
Further stations of the Norwegian were in the following years the HC Friborg-Gottéron from the Swiss National League A , the Adler Mannheim from the DEL and the Detroit Red Wings from the NHL, whereby he failed again in his attempt to gain a foothold in the NHL played almost exclusively for Detroit's AHL farm team Grand Rapids Griffins . From 2004 to 2008 he was under contract with Vålerenga IF from Oslo and won Norwegian champions three times in a row with his team in 2005, 2006 and 2007 . Only in the 2005/06 season he played briefly for the ZSC Lions in the Swiss NLA and their farm team GCK Lions from the NLB . For the 2008/09 season, the Norwegian moved within the top Norwegian league to the Stavanger Oilers , for which he scored seven goals in a total of 50 games and gave 24 templates. He spent the 2009/10 season at Stjernen. In the 2010/11 season he was on the ice for Frisk Asker in the GET league. Since then he has been without a contract.
International
For Norway , Myrvold took part in the junior division of the U18 European Junior Championships in 1991 , 1992 and 1993 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1993 , 1994 and 1995 . In all three tournaments at the U20 World Championships, he was voted the best defender of the B World Cup and in 1993 he was also elected to the All-Star Team.
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 2002 , 2003 and 2005 and the A World Championships in 1994 , 2006 , 2008 and 2009 . At the 2009 World Cup he was named one of the top three players in his country.
