Lørenskog is a municipality in the province of Viken in Norway . It borders directly to the east on the capital Oslo and has 41,460 inhabitants (as of February 27, 2020). The name Lørenskog means roughly swampy forest .
Almost all residents live in the northern part of Lørenskog. A well-known part of Lørenskog is Losby , where the water wheel is located, which can be found in the municipal coat of arms . The Losby area is now partially a golf course.

In the southern part there is mainly forest and in the middle there are farms and wheat fields.
traffic
The municipality has three stops (Lørenskog, Hanaborg and Fjellhamar) on the local train line Oslo – Lillestrøm.
Town twinning
Lørenskog has partnerships with the Swedish municipality of Täby near Stockholm, with the Copenhagen suburb of Rødovre , with the Finnish city of Järvenpää near Helsinki and, since 1974, with the Bavarian city of Garching near Munich .
