Krødsherad is a municipality in Fylke Viken in Norway , which includes the southern part of the inland lake Krøderen at the end of Hallingdal . It borders on the municipalities of Ringerike , Flå , Sigdal and Modum . The municipality is located around ten kilometers south of Oslo . Most of the residents live in the small towns of Krøderen and Noresund .
The municipality, together with the neighboring municipalities of Modum and Sigdal, describes itself as Kunstnerdalen . The nature of Krødherad attracted numerous artists from the turn of the century, such as the writer Oddmund Hagen and the painters Anders Kjær and Kristin Lindberg . There is also a rich tradition of folk music in the municipality, with Truls Ørpen (1880–1958) being its most famous representative.
Krødsherad has three church buildings. The Olberg kirke from 1859 is located in the center of Noresund. It replaced an older stave church. Then there are the Glesne kapell (1909) and the Veikåker kapell (1934) in Krøderen.
