Nore og Uvdal is a municipality in the province ( Fylke ) Viken in Norway . The administrative seat is in Rødberg.

The municipalities of Hol , Ål and Nesbyen in the north, Flå and Sigdal in the east, Rollag , Tinn ( Vestfold and Telemark ) and Vinje (Vestfold and Telemark) in the south and Eidfjord in Vestland in the west border on Nore og Uvdal .

The highest point of the municipality is the Borgsjåbrot (1485 m), which is on the border with the municipality of Tinn in Vestfold og Telemark. Large parts of the Hardangervidda are in the municipality of Nore og Uvdal.

The municipality was created in 1962 by merging the municipalities of Nore and Uvdal and forms the uppermost part of Numedal .

The 12th century stave churches of Nore and Uvdal are well worth a visit .
