Career

Falla started cross-country skiing at the age of four and starts for the Gjerdrum IL association . She is a specialist in sprint and short distance races. Occasionally, however, she also competes in double pursuit races.

She contested her first international race in January 2007 in Sjusjøen as part of the Scandinavian Cup . In November 2008 she was able to start at the pre-season race in Beitostølen . With her fourth place in the sprint competition, she qualified there for the Norwegian World Cup team. Two weeks later, Falla made his debut in Kuusamo in the cross-country skiing world cup . Already on her first outing she won first points as 22nd in the sprint competition. A week later she took part in an FIS race in Gålå . She finally made her international breakthrough at the following World Cup shortly before Christmas 2008 in Düsseldorf . In the sprint race, Falla was first third and one day later, together with Celine Brun-Lie, second in the team sprint. In mid-January 2009 she won the silver medal in the sprint at the Norwegian championship in Gjøvik . The next day she also competed in the double pursuit, but only finished 16th. At the following Sprint World Cup in Otepää , she finished eighth. In early February 2009 she took part in the Junior World Championships in Praz-de-Lys . At the start she won the bronze medal in the sprint. In the following double pursuit, she finished fifth, in the 5 km freestyle race she was only 24. In the final 4 × 3.3 km relay she won the gold medal together with Marthe Kristoffersen , Hilde Lauvhaug and Ingvild Flugstad Østberg . Following the Junior World Championships, she paused two weeks from international competitions in order to then take part in the sprint competition of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec , where she failed to qualify. Until the end of the season she took part in the Sprint World Cups in Lahti and Trondheim , where she was able to collect further World Cup points as 19th and 11th.

During the summer of 2009, she took part in several FIS races held in China . At the pre-season races in Beitostølen in November, she was able to achieve second place in the sprint race. The following day, she also took part in the 10 km freestyle race, but only finished 34th. She competed in the opening race of the 2009/10 World Cup held at the same location as the starting runner of the only junior season, Norway IV . This finished only in 18th place, with Falla running one of the weakest lap times. Nevertheless, she was able to reach the final at the Sprint World Cup taking place in Kuusamo a week later and achieve sixth place. At the beginning of December, the Sprint World Cup in Düsseldorf, she failed because of the qualification. On the following day, however, as in the previous year, she was able to finish third in the team sprint with Celine Brun-Lie . After taking part in a national junior race, she was able to take tenth place in the World Cup sprint held in Rogla, Slovenia, just before Christmas. At the beginning of 2010, she took a break from international competitions to prepare for the upcoming season highlights. It was not until the end of January that she took part in an FIS race in Stokke , where she took third place.
