Maja Dahlqvist (born April 15, 1994 in Borlänge ) is a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Dahlqvist, who competes for the Fauln-Borlänge SK, mainly took part in junior competitions until 2014. In January 2012 she ran her first race in the Scandinavian Cup and finished seventh in the sprint. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme , she won gold with the relay. She made her debut in the World Cup at the beginning of the 2014/15 season in Ruka and achieved 49th place in the sprint. She got her first World Cup points in December 2014 in Davos with the 26th place in the sprint. At the World Cup race in Östersund in February 2015, she achieved 11th place in the sprint, her best place in a World Cup race so far. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, she won her first Scandinavian Cup victory in the sprint in Vuokatti . At the U23 World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , she won the bronze medal in the sprint. The following year, she again won the bronze medal in the sprint at the U23 World Ski Championships in 2017 in Soldier Hollow . In addition, she achieved 20th place in the 10 km freestyle and fifth place in the skiathlon . At the Rollerski World Championships 2017 in Sollefteå , she won the bronze medal in the 16 km mass start race, the silver medal in the 18 km freestyle and the gold medal together with Linn Sömskar in the team sprint. In January 2018 she won her first World Cup victory together with Ida Ingemarsdotter in the team sprint in Dresden , where she also took second place in the sprint.

At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Dahlqvist took second place in the sprint in Ruka , 22nd place in the Lillehammer Triple and third place in the sprint in Davos . In January 2019 she won the team sprint in Dresden together with Stina Nilsson and also ran there to second place in the individual sprint. This was followed by third places in the sprint in Otepää , Lahti and Falun and first place in Lahti together with Ida Ingemarsdotter in the team sprint. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , she and Stina Nilsson won the gold medal in the team sprint. She also came in sixth in the sprint there. At the World Cup final in Québec , she finished eighth. She reached second place in the sprint and finally ninth place in the overall World Cup and third place in the Sprint World Cup. After 45th place at the Ruka Triple early in the season 2019/20, they won in Planica and Dresden each with Linn Svahn in the team sprint and also won in Dresden the third place in the sprint and ran in de Tour Ski 2019/20 to 32 .
