Debaltseve Railway Station
Coordinates: 48 ° 21 ′ 16.5 ″ N , 38 ° 25 ′ 40.1 ″ E
The Debaltseve Railway Station was opened in 1878 and gave rise to the town of Debaltseve in the Donetsk Oblast . It is on the railway line between Luhansk in the northeast and Horlivka and Donetsk in the southwest. Another route leads to Stakhanov .
At the end of the Russian Empire , the railway facilities were supplemented by one of the few marshalling yards with a waste mountain at that time .
Before the war began, there were direct long-distance connections to Kiev , Luhansk , Odessa , Simferopol and Kharkiv .
In mid-2014, rail traffic was stopped due to the war. Since February 17, 2015, the station has been under the control of the separatists. In mid-May 2015, the media reported that at least 1 train was leaving the station every day.
