Inger Reidun Aufles (born May 29, 1941 in Valldal , Norddal as Inger Reidun Døving ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Aufles moved at the age of 20 years with her family from Valldall near Ålesund to Mosjoen , where he married and started a short time later at the club Kjærstad IL with the cross-country skiing . At the Norwegian Championship in Voss in 1964 , she reached fourth place in the individual over 5 km and fifth over 10 km. In 1965 she took third place with the Svenska Skidspelen and in 1966 second place with the relay.

At the Norwegian Championship in 1966 , Aufles won the bronze medal in the individual over 5 km and the silver medal over 10 km. A little later, Aufles was nominated for the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1966. In the relay race over 3 × 5 km she won the silver medal together with Ingrid Wigernæs and Berit Mørdre .

At the Norwegian Championship in 1967 , Aufles again won the bronze medal in the individual over 5 km and the silver medal over 10 km. In late February 1967 she won second place with the relay at the Lahti Ski Games . At her first Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968 , which were also held as the Nordic World Ski Championships , she secured a bronze medal in the 10 km individual race and seventh place over 5 km together with Babben Enger and Berit Mørdre, the gold medal in the 3 × 5 km relay. This made her and her teammates world champion at the same time.

At the Norwegian Championships in Ørskog in 1968 , Aufles secured her first national title over 10 km after winning a silver medal over 5 km. She also won bronze with the team in the relay. The following year she secured the title in Raufoss over 5 km and was second over 10 km and with the relay. At the Svenska Skidspelen in Falun in 1969 , she also secured second place and first place with the relay over 10 km. That same year she was second with the relay at the Lahti Ski Games.

In Vysoké Tatry she was fourth in the 3 × 5 km relay together with Aslaug Dahl and Berit Mørdre at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970 . In the same year she came third at the Svenska Skidspelen over 10 km and second place with the relay.

At the Norwegian Championships in Fåberg in 1971 , she again won a national medal over 10 km with bronze. In 1971 and 1972 she was second with the relay at the Svenska Skidspelen.

At the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo , she secured her third Olympic medal in the relay with the bronze medal. In the individual races over 5 and 10 km, she did not get past 12th place. After the Games, she finished after the 1971/72 season at the age of 30. She had previously won bronze at the Norwegian Championships in 1972 .
