Sinaida Stepanowna Amossowa ( Russian Зинаида Степановна Амосова ; born January 12, 1950 in the Krupskaja kolkhoz , Shambyl Oblast , Kazakh SSR ) is a former Russian cross-country skier who started for the Soviet Union in the 1970s .

Career

Amossowa was third in the relay at the Lahti Ski Games in 1973 and second in the 10 km run the following year. At the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , she won the gold medal with the relay. In addition, she achieved sixth place over 5 km and over 10 km. The following year she won the Lahti Ski Games for the third time in a row with the relay. She also won over 5 km and 20 km. In the same year she won the Svenska Skidspelen in Falun with the relay and finished second in the 10 km run. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1978 and at the same time Lahti Ski Games, she won the bronze medal with the relay and the gold medal over 10 km and 20 km, respectively. She took sixth place over 5 km. In 1979 she won the Lahti Ski Games and the Svenska Skidspelen with the relay and also won third place over 20 km at the Svenska Skidspelen. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 1980 she was sixth over 20 km. In the same year she came in second place with the relay at the Svenska Skidspelen. In the 1982/83 season she finished 26th overall in the cross-country skiing world cup . Her best result was sixth place over 20 km in Kavgolovo . At Soviet championships she won four times with the relay (1974, 1979, 1981, 1984), twice over 20 km (1976, 1982) and once over 5 km (1982) and over 30 km (1982).

In 1976 she was honored with the Soviet Badge of Honor .
