Nina Wiktorowna Baldytschewa ( Russian: Нина Викторовна Балдычева ; born July 18, 1947 in Trawino ; maiden name Fyodorova ; † January 27, 2019 in Saint Petersburg , Russia) was a Russian cross-country skier who started for the Soviet Union in the 1970s and early 1980s .
Career
Baldytschewa had her first international success at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970 in Vysoké Tatry . There she won bronze over 5 km and gold with the relay. At her first Olympic participation in Sapporo in 1972 she was tenth over 5 km. The following year she finished second at the Svenska Skidspelen over 5 km and at the Lahti Ski Games with the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1974 in Falun , she won the gold medal with the relay. In addition, she was fifth over 5 km. Two years later she won the bronze medal over 5 km and the gold medal with the relay at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck . Over 10 km she achieved fourth place. In March 1976 she won the Lahti Ski Games with the relay. In 1979 she came in second place with the relay at the Svenska Skidspelen and the Lahti Ski Games. At the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , she won silver with the relay. She also took sixth place over 10 km and fifth place over 5 km. In March 1980 she was at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1980 in Falun Fifth over 20 km and finished second at the Svenska Skidspelen with the relay.
In Soviet championships Baldytschewa won eight times with the relay (1969-1973, 1975, 1976, 1979) and once over 5 km (1971).
