Brit Pettersen Tofte (born November 29, 1961 in Lillehammer ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier who started from 1982 to 1988.

Career

Tofte celebrated her greatest successes with the Norwegian 4x5 km relay (world championship title 1982, Olympic victory 1984). There is also an Olympic bronze medal and three other World Cup medals. In the cross-country skiing world cup , Pettersen won ten races, came second six times and third seven times. In the overall World Cup ranking she came second in 1982 and 1983, and third in 1985 and 1986. In 1986 she received the Holmenkollen Medal .

After her resignation in 1988, Pettersen studied economics and marketing. She worked for an insurance company, was responsible for organizing the cross-country races at the 1994 Winter Olympics in her hometown of Lillehammer, and also worked for the Norwegian Ski Association and the IOC 's Athletes' Commission.
