The cross-country skiing world cup 1981/82 was the first official competition series organized by the FIS . The men's World Cup began on January 9, 1982 in Reit im Winkl and ended on March 27, 1982 in Castelrotto . The women's World Cup began on January 9, 1982 in Klingenthal and ended on April 13, 1982 in Kiruna . The highlight of the season was the 1982 Nordic World Ski Championships from February 19th to 28th in Oslo . The individual competitions held there were also counted as World Cup events (in contrast to the relays, which were also not counted for the national rankings). The athletes in places 1 to 20 received World Cup points (1st place = 26 points, 2nd place = 22 points, 3rd place = 19 points, 4th to 20th place, descending 17 points to 1 point). Not all placements were counted for the individual evaluation, there were deleted results. For the nations ranking, however, all World Cup points were taken into account (no deleted results).
