Dieter Notz (born September 18, 1955 in Bad Urach ) is a German cross-country skier .

Career

Notz, who comes from Dettingen an der Erms , was German champion twice over 50 km (1978 and 1979). At the 1980 Olympic Winter Games , he started over 15 (36th place), 30 (22nd) and 50 kilometers (22nd). He was also part of the 4 x 10 kilometer relay, which missed a medal with fourth place. In the same year he became German champion over 15 km.

After his career he stayed on cross-country skiing. The Dettinger has been the state trainer for Baden-Württemberg since 1986. In 2017 he was named Trainer of the Year by the German Ski Association.

Personal

His son Florian Notz is also a cross-country skier and was trained by Dieter Notz as a teenager.
