Eija Marita Hyytiäinen (born January 4, 1961 in Saarijärvi , Central Finland ) is a former Finnish cross-country skier .

Hyytiäinen made her international debut at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo . There she competed in the relay over the individual distances of 5, 10 and 20 kilometers as well as with Pirkko Määttä , Marjo Matikainen and Marja-Liisa Kirvesniemi -Hämäläinen. In the individual races she reached positions 19, 25 and 17; in the relay competition she won the bronze medal. This was her only international podium finish. Hyytiäinen qualified in 1987 for the Nordic World Ski Championships and was there in the competition over 10 kilometers tenth and sixth in the relay, together with Pirkko Määttä, Jaana Savolainen and Marjo Matikainen. In 1988 she appeared again at the Winter Olympics in Calgary . There she finished 32nd over 20 kilometers. Hyytiäinen had her last international appearance at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1989 when she was 13th over 10 kilometers.

Hyytiäinen is a farm worker and has been married to cross-country skier Kari Ristanen since 1989 .
