Lyubov Sergejewna Sabolotskaja ( Russian Любовь Сергеевна Заболотская ; born April 2, 1956 in Sardyk, Kirov Oblast ) is a former Soviet cross-country skier .

Career

Sabolotskaya, who belonged to the Soviet cross-country skiing team from 1978 to 1985, had her first international success at the 1981 Winter Universiade in Candanchú . There she won the bronze medal over 10 km and the gold medal over 5 km. The following year she won the silver medal with the relay at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo . In addition, she achieved 15th place over 10 km there. These were also her first races in the Cross-Country World Cup . In April 1982 she reached her best place in the World Cup with ninth place over 5 km in Kiruna . She repeated this placement in February 1983 in Veliko Polje over 5 km. At the 1983 Winter Universiade in Vitoscha , she won gold medals over 5 km and 10 km. She completed her last World Cup race in March 1984 in Murmansk , which she finished in 18th place over 10 km. At Soviet championships she was third and once second.
