Jean-Paul Pierrat (born July 3, 1952 in Xonrupt ) is a former French cross-country skier .
Career
Pierrat achieved 18th place over 15 km and 11th place over 50 km and in the relay at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck . The following year he won the Marcialonga . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1978 , he won the bronze medal over 50 km. In the same year he won the Wasalauf . His best placings at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid were 12th place over 50 km and tenth place with the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1982 he reached 11th place over 30 km freestyle. In the 1981/82 season he was fourth in the overall World Cup. His best result in the World Cup was second place in January 1982 over 30 km in Brusson . His brother Claude was also a cross-country skier.
