In the 1981/82 season , the biathlon world cup was held for the 5th time. The competition series consisted of five individual and sprint races and four relay races for men and was held at five venues. In addition to the four World Cup events in Egg am Etzel , Antholz , Ruhpolding and Lahti , the World Championships were held in Soviet Minsk . Frank Ullrich won the overall World Cup ahead of Matthias Jacob and Kjell Søbak .
