Egg is a quarter in the municipality of Einsiedeln in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland . It was first mentioned in 1331 as Egga .
Devil's bridge
Lying on the ground Egger Devil's Bridge , the the Way of St. James on the Sihl leads and Etzelpass connects Einsiedeln. Paracelsus was born right next to the Devil's Bridge in 1493 . The first bridge was built by Abbot Gero von Frohburg in 1117. In 1517 the first stone bridge was built. In the 17th century it was replaced by a new building with a roof, which was reinforced by Brother Jakob Natter in 1794 and at the same time supplemented with a chapel niche for Saint Nepomuk .
