Gross is a quarter within the political municipality of Einsiedeln in the Swiss canton of Schwyz . The village is on the Sihlsee .
The place was known as Grosse in 1311 . The number of inhabitants was:
- 1860: 697 inhabitants
- 1905: 652 inhabitants
- 2000: 1137 inhabitants
The place, which is still characterized by agriculture today, has also become a residential area of Einsiedeln in recent years and, due to its location on the lake, also important as a local recreation area.
