Viktor Nikolajewitsch Semjonow ( Belarusian Віктар Мікалаевіч Сямёнаў , Russian Виктор Николаевич Семёнов ; born May 1957 in Perm ) is a former Soviet biathlete .

Viktor Semjonow began his sports career in his native Perm as a cross-country skier , he became Soviet junior champion and was appointed to the national team. At the age of nineteen he moved to Minsk-Raubitschy , where he switched to biathlon under Vladimir Kartschewski and proved to be a very good shooter. He soon had successes in the junior sector. In 1977 in Kurikka and 1978 in Ruhpolding he took part in the Junior World Championships , in 1977 he won bronze in the relay and silver in the individual in Finland with Alexei Ulin and Sergei Lewinski. His national coach Priwalow saw more potential in him than in Alexander Tichonow . In 1978 in Ruhpolding he won the silver medal in the relay race with Vladimir Alikin and Sergei Lewinski behind the GDR, as well as both individual titles in the junior races over 10 km and 15 km. 1980 Semjonow was at the Soviet championships in Kirovo-Chepetsk USSR champion in the relay (as Dinamo I), together with Alexander Morozov , Vladimir Vedensky and Vladimir Barnaschow , in the 20 km individual he finished third. In 1981 he won silver in the individual and bronze with the relay at the state championships. His most successful career year was when he took part in the Biathlon World Championships in front of a home crowd in Minsk in 1982 . In the individual, he finished as the best Soviet starter with three shooting errors and with almost five minutes behind the winner Frank Ullrich in seventh place, with Vladimir Alikin, Vladimir Barnaschow and Anatoli Aljabjew he won the bronze medal with the Soviet relay behind the GDR and Norway. According to him, drugs given against his will prevented his great chance for the world title.

Semyonov ended his career in 1985 at the age of 28 and became a coach. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he stayed in Belarus and worked in various professions. Today he is employed as a security guard in a supermarket.
