Vladimir Alexandrovich Alikin

Vladimir Alexandrowitsch Alikin (Russian Владимир Александрович Аликин, born May 10, 1957 in Novo-Ilyinsk, Perm Oblast ) is a former Soviet biathlete and coach of the Russian men's biathlon team until 2010 .

Alikin celebrated his greatest successes at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , when he won gold in the 4 × 7.5 km relay with Alexander Tichonow , Vladimir Barnaschow and Anatoli Aljabjew , as well as silver in the 10 km sprint. He also won bronze at the 1982 World Championships in the sprint and three times in the relay (1979, 1981 and 1982).

Alikin is currently the trainer of the Russian men's team, which won the relay world championship in the 2007 and 2008 World Biathlon Championships .
