Ivan Ivanovich Bjakow ( Russian Иван Иванович Бяков * 21st September 1944 in Issakowzy , Rajon Kirovo-Chepetsk , Kirov Oblast , at that time the Soviet Union ; † 4. November 2009 in Kiev , Ukraine ) was a Soviet biathlete and two-time Olympic champion and Ukrainian biathlon coaches and - official.

Ivan Bjakow won the 4 × 7.5 km run with the Soviet biathlon relay at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo . In the individual over 20 km he reached twelfth place. Four years later at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , he repeated the triumph with the Soviet relay and won his second gold medal. In 1974 Bjakow took part in the biathlon world championships for the only time . In the individual he was seventh with two shooting errors and was after Alexander Tichonow the second best of the Soviet team, in the 10 km sprint he was 40th and in the relay he was not used.

After his sporting career, he became a biathlon coach and was the head coach of the Ukrainian national and junior national team. From 1992 to 1996 he was the first president of the Ukrainian Biathlon Federation and a member of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine . Until his death in 2009 he was a member of the board of the Ukrainian Biathlon Federation.
