Viktor Mamatov ( Russian Виктор Фёдорович Маматов * 21st July 1937 in Belovo , Kemerovo Oblast ) is a former Russian biathlete , biathlon coach and sports official .

At the 1967 World Championships , Marmatov won the gold medal in the individual over 20 kilometers and the silver medal in the relay. A year later he won the relay gold medal at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble . He was also victorious with the relay at the World Championships in 1969, 1970 and 1971. Another relay gold medal was added at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo . Mamatow secured the Soviet championship twice, both in 1968 in singles and in the relay.

After finishing his sports career, Mamatow worked from 1973 to 1976 as the head coach of the Soviet national biathlon team. After that he was rector of the sports high school in Novosibirsk until 1981 . From 1981 to 1985 he coached the biathlon national team a second time. Marmatov was the last president of the Soviet biathlon federation from 1989 to 1992, then until 1998 vice-president of the Russian biathlon federation. In addition, he was a member of the National Olympic Committee of Russia from 1994 to 2002. In 1998 and 2002 he worked as team manager for the Russian biathletes at the Winter Olympics.
