Sven Nilsson is a former Swedish biathlete .

Sven Nilsson from Erikslund ( Ånge kommun , Västernorrlands län ) started for Enig, Borgsjö and was one of the participants in the first ever biathlon world championship in 1958 in Saalfelden . In adding up the individual results, he became unofficial world champion together with Adolf Wiklund , Olle Gunneriusson and Sture Ohlin . Although Nilsson came in eighth, he contributed the weakest of Sweden's four results - his team-mates finished one, two and four. In the following years only the three best runners in a country were included in the ranking. The results are now included in the official relay statistics of the International Biathlon Union .
