Ivar Olaus Nordkild (born May 14, 1941 in Vassdal ) is a former Norwegian biathlete .

Ivar Nordkild started as an active player for Bjerkvik Idrettslag . At almost ten, he had an unusually long international career for his time. At the Biathlon World Championships in Elverum in 1965 , he and Olav Jordet and Ola Wærhaug won the unofficially rated first relay rating, which replaced the team rating from previous years in which the individual results were added. In the individual he was 14. In the following year Nordkild won the first relay race in Garmisch-Partenkirchen alongside Jon Istad , Ragnar Tveiten and Olav Jordet. Then it took until 1971 that he was used again in a world championship in Hämeenlinna . With Tor Svendsberget , Ragnar Tveiten and Magnar Solberg , he won the relay silver medal as the final runner behind the overwhelming Soviet Union at the time . In individual he was 14. The last international championship was the 1974 World Championships in Minsk , in which Nordkild came in 36th in the individual.

Nationally, Nordkild won a medal for the first time in Elverum in 1966 with a bronze medal behind Jon Istad and Ola Wærhaug. In 1967 he was runner- up in Lier behind Istad and in 1970 in Trondheim behind Kjell Hovda , in 1968 in Kongsvinger and again in 1974 in Vingrom third in the individual. In 1974 he also achieved his greatest national success when he won the first sprint championship in front of Kjell Hovda and Esten Gjelten .
