Skeime, who started for Kjelsås Idrettslag, had her first international success at the Junior World Ski Championships in 1981 in Schonach in the Black Forest . There she won the gold medal with the relay. She ran her first of 29 individual World Cup races in March 1982 in Falun , which she finished in eighth place over 20 km. In the 1985/86 season she was in Lahti and in Oslo second with the relay. In the 1986/87 season she came in the points seven times in the World Cup and achieved her best overall result with 16th place in the overall World Cup. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 in Oberstdorf , she won the silver medal with the relay. In the individual races she finished 14th place over 5 km classic, 11th place over 20 km freestyle and sixth place over 10 km classic. This was her best individual placement in the World Cup. In addition, she won third place with the relay in Oslo in March 1987 and second place with the relay in Lahti. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1989 , she won the bronze medal with the relay. In addition, she ran on 18th place over 10 km freestyle and 14th place over 30 km freestyle. In February 1991 she took 28th place over 10 km freestyle at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Fiemme Valley . She completed her last World Cup races in March 1991 in Oslo, which she finished with 13th place over 5 km freestyle and third place with the relay. In 1992 she won the American Birkebeiner .
At Norwegian championships she won three times over 20 km (1984, 1985, 1989) and seven times with the relay of Kjelsås Idrettslag (1985, 1986, 1988-1992).
