Pål Gunnar Mikkelsplass (born April 29, 1961 in Bromma ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Mikkelsplass won numerous medals at world championships with the Norwegian relay, including two gold ones. On the individual route, he won the silver medal over 15 kilometers in classic style at the 1989 World Cup . The same placement over the same distance he achieved at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary .

Mikkelsplass also won several relay and team gold medals at Norwegian Biathlon Championships, where he competed for Buskerud together with Frode Andresen , Ole Einar and Dag Bjørndalen .

He has been married to the cross-country skier Marit Mikkelsplass-Wold since 1994 . His brother Eilif Kristen Mikkelsplass , husband of the biathlete Hildegunn Fossen-Mikkelsplass , was also a successful cross-country skier.
