Erik Östlund (born September 23, 1962 ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Östlund, who started for the Dala-Järna IK , made his debut in Reit im Winkl in January 1983 in the cross-country skiing world cup and finished 13th over 15 km. In the 1983/84 season he achieved his first top ten placements in the World Cup in Reit im Winkl with sixth place over 15 km and ninth place over 30 km in Falun . In the following season he finished in the top ten twice in the World Cup singles and finished 14th in the overall World Cup at the end of the season. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1985 in Seefeld in Tyrol , he won the bronze medal with the relay. In the 1985/86 season he reached five top ten positions in the individual World Cup, including third place over 30 km classic in La Bresse and thus achieved fourth place in the overall World Cup. His last international appearance was the following year at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 1987 . There he became world champion with the relay. At Swedish championships he won in 1984 and 1986 with the relay of Dala-Järna IK.
