Hjalmar Bergström (born January 19, 1907 in Holmsund , Umeå municipality , † March 30, 2000 in Umeå ) was a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Bergström, who started for Sandviks IK , won the bronze medal over 17 km in classic style at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane in 1929 . Three years later Bergström won his first championship title in Östersund . In the following year he won the relay gold medal at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1933 in Innsbruck, together with Per-Erik Hedlund , Nils Englund and Sven Utterström . In addition, he won silver over 18 km classic and bronze over 50 km behind Veli Saarinen and Sven Utterström. In 1936 he won his second Swedish championship in Luleå over 50 km.

At the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , Bergström narrowly missed the medals over 50 km in fourth.
