Anders Gløersen (born May 22, 1986 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Anders Gløersen starts for the Rustad IL association . He has been competing in international competitions since the end of 2004. Until March 2007 he started in lower class competitions such as FIS and Continental Cup races. In addition, he was fourth at the Junior World Championships in Kranj sprint. In Drammen , Gløersen was able to make his debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in mid-March 2007, finishing 36th . In the 2007/08 season , World Cup appearances became more frequent. He surprisingly won his third race, a sprint in Rybinsk . Further good placings followed and the sprint specialist won again in Lahti . In the overall ranking of the Sprint World Cup, Gløersen was fourth. In the following season he could not repeat his strong performances. The 13th place in the sprint in Trondheim was his best World Cup placement. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he took second place in the sprint and team sprint in Düsseldorf . Placements in midfield followed. In March 2010 he won his third World Cup victory in Oslo . He finished the season in ninth place in the sprint classification. In December 2010 he won the team sprint in Düsseldorf with Ola Vigen Hattestad . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo he came in 13th place in the sprint. In December 2013 he won his fifth World Cup race in Davos . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he narrowly missed a medal with fourth place in the sprint. In March 2014 Gløersen won the Engadin Skimarathon . After a weak start to the 2014/15 season with 40th overall place at the Nordic Opening , he achieved second place in the sprint and first place over 15 km freestyle in Davos. In January 2015 he took second place in the team sprint in Rybinsk together with Finn Hågen Krogh . Two weeks later he was the first Norwegian champion over 15 km freestyle in Røros . At the subsequent Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun , he won bronze over 15 km freestyle and gold with the relay. After 17th place at the Nordic Opening in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he finished third in Lillehammer with the relay and in Davos over 30 km freestyle. In the further course of the season he only achieved placements outside of the top ten. He ended the Tour de Ski 2016 and the Ski Tour Canada early and finished 28th in the overall World Cup at the end of the season. In the 2016/17 season he won the World Cup in La Clusaz and Ulricehamn with the relay and took second place in the 30 km freestyle in Davos. In February 2017 he won the Gsieser-Tal-Lauf over 42 km freestyle. At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti, he came 11th in the 50 km mass start race. In March 2017 he finished second behind Dario Cologna in the Engadin Skimarathon and at the end of the season he finished 45th in the overall World Cup and 27th in the Distance World Cup. At the end of March 2017 he became the Norwegian champion over 10 km freestyle in Gålå .
