Alois Stadlober (born April 11, 1962 in Judenburg , Styria ) is a former Austrian cross-country skier , lawyer and sports professional and currently businessman and co-commentator of the Austrian television station ORF .

Career

Alois Stadlober was active as a high-performance athlete in the cross-country skiing world cup from 1977 to 2000 and was crowned world champion in the relay competition over 4 × 10 km at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Ramsau am Dachstein in 1999 together with Markus Gandler , Christian Hoffmann and Michail Botwinow . A few days earlier he had already won the silver medal over 10 km in the classic style and thus also won an individual medal at a major event. In his long career, Austria's best cross-country skier was often Austrian champion for many years and also took part in five Olympic Winter Games .

After his active career, he decided to found his own company with his colleague Markus Gandler to give cross-country skiing a new image. Together with partners from tourism and business , the managing director of Gandler & Stadlober Nordic Ski GmbH has managed to organize top events in recent years. In addition, he is also the Nordic Ski Sports Coordinator for the Province of Styria. Alois Stadlober is married to the former Austrian ski racer Roswitha Steiner . The Austrian cross-country skier Teresa Stadlober is his daughter, Luis Stadlober his son.
