Teresa Stadlober (born February 1, 1993 in Schladming , Styria ) is an Austrian cross-country skier . She starts for SC Radstadt.

Career

Teresa Stadlober is the daughter of Roswitha Steiner and Alois Stadlober . Her brother Luis Stadlober is also a cross-country skier. After several Austrian national championship titles in the youth sector, she started in the general class in 2010.

In 2012 the Austrian left the national team temporarily. She continued to train with her father at her own expense and achieved good results in the Alpine Cup and the Continental Cup. She won several FIS races in Austria. At the Junior World Championships in Liberec 2013 , she won silver in the 5-kilometer skating competition, two days later she won gold in the skiathlon (5 km skating + 5 km classic).

Teresa Stadlober has been part of the national team again since autumn 2013. In the World Cup, in which she has been participating since the 2013/14 season, she reached 27th place in the 2013/14 Tour de Ski . In January 2014 she reached third place in the skiathlon at the U23 World Championships in Val di Fiemme , as well as ninth place over 10 km in classic style. Her best placements at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were 20th in the 30 km mass start race and ninth in the team sprint. She finished the 2015 Tour de Ski in tenth place overall. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 , she achieved 25th place in the 10 km freestyle, 21st place in the skiathlon and 13th place in the 30 km classic mass start race. She finished the season in 28th place in the overall World Cup and second in the U23 classification. In the 2015/16 season she came in 27th place at the Nordic Opening in Ruka and 11th place in the 2016 Tour de Ski . At the end of the season she achieved 18th place in the Ski Tour Canada and reached 19th place in the overall World Cup, 15th place in the Distance World Cup and third place in the U23 classification. The following season she finished 15th in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer and ninth in the Tour de Ski 2016/17 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti she achieved 12th place over 10 km classic, eighth place in the 30 km mass start race and sixth place in the skiathlon. At the end of the season she came in 14th place at the World Cup finals in Québec and reached 12th place in the overall World Cup and 11th place in the Distance World Cup.

In the 2017/18 season, Stadlober finished in the top ten 15 times in the World Cup. She finished sixth in the Ruka Triple and fifth in the Tour de Ski 2017/18 . She achieved her first podium positions in the World Cup in Fiemme Valley with third place in the 10 km mass start race and the second fastest time in the final stage. At the highlight of the season, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , they achieved seventh place in the 15 km skiathlon and ninth place over 10 km freestyle. It got lost over 30 km in the classic style and dropped from 2nd to 9th place. At the end of the season she took 14th place at the World Cup finals in Falun and finally finished eighth in the overall World Cup and seventh in the Distance World Cup. In the 2018/19 season she finished seventh in the Lillehammer Triple and 29th in the World Cup finals in Québec. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol , she was eighth in the 30 km mass start race and over 10 km in classic style. She finished the season in 22nd place in the overall World Cup and 12th in the Distance World Cup. After finishing 16th in the Ruka Triple at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, she was sixth in the Tour de Ski 2019/20 and came third in the skiathlon in Oberstdorf . At the end of the season she came in 11th place on the ski tour and reached tenth place in the overall World Cup and ninth place in the Distance World Cup.

Stadlober has won 25 medals at Austrian championships so far , 14 of them gold. (Status: end of season 2017/18).
