Luis Stadlober (born July 23, 1991 ) is a former Austrian cross-country skier .

Career

Stadlober, who competes for SC Sparkasse Radstadt, took part in the Alpencup from 2008 to the 2015/16 season . The ninth place in the freestyle sprint in February 2015 in Rogla was his best result. At the European Olympic Winter Youth Festival 2009 in Szczyrk , he finished 73rd over 10 km freestyle and 36th place over 7.5 km classic. In January 2010 he came in at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Hinterzarten on the 75th place over 10 km classic. The following year he won the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Otepää, 47th place in the skiathlon, 17th place in the sprint and sixth place with the relay. At the Austrian Championships in 2013 he won bronze over 10 km and silver with the relay. In the following year he was Austrian champion in sprint and relay. At the U23 World Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme , he achieved 36th place in the sprint. In the 2014/15 season he won the silver medal over 10 km and the gold medal in the subsequent pursuit at the 2015 Austrian Championships . At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he ran his first World Cup race in Davos and finished 46th in the sprint. In the first stage of the Tour de Ski 2016 in Lenzerheide , he achieved his first World Cup points with 25th place in the sprint. At the end of the season he finished 48th in the Ski Tour Canada . In the following year he finished 45th in the sprint at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , 37th over 15 km classic and 18th place together with Dominik Baldauf in the team sprint. At the Austrian Championships 2017 in Eisenerz , he was champion in the sprint and third in the 30 km mass start race. In February 2018 he ran at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang to 53rd place in the sprint to 13th place with the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , he finished 56th over 15 km classic and 48th place in the sprint.

Luis Stadlober is the son of Roswitha Steiner and Alois Stadlober . His sister Teresa Stadlober is also a cross-country skier.

In March 2019 he announced his retirement, on April 1, 2019 he ended his active career. In June 2019 it was adopted by the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV).
