The competition over 15 kilometers freestyle was dominated by the Russian athletes. In this competition, too, the favorite, Jewgeni Below, prevailed. Below, who already celebrated a podium place in the World Cup this season , relegated his compatriots Pavel Vikulin and Raul Shakirsyanow to places two and three. The Briton Andrew Musgrave caused a little surprise when he secured sixth place. The two German starters Andreas Katz and Hannes Dotzler followed in seventh and eighth . The German hope Tim Tscharnke took a disappointing 21st place for him. Romanian Paul Constantin Pepene , who won the pursuit competition last year, came tenth. The best Austrian starter was Thomas Grader in 13th place. 67 athletes reached the goal. The Finn Juho Mikkonen gave up the race.

The Estonian starter Triin Ojaste , who had finished second in the qualification, missed the final and finished ninth. The best German starter was Denise Herrmann , who was also eliminated in the semi-finals and took eleventh place. The only starter from Switzerland, Tatjana Stiffler , was 19th. The local hero Nurmsalu secured the jumping competition and went into the cross-country skiing competition with a lead of 28 seconds and 30 seconds respectively on the two favorites Rydzek and Jelenko. The strong runner Ole Christian Wendel was 27th after the jumping already 2:40 behind the Estonian. Already in the 2nd round (after a little more than 2.5 km) Jelenko and Rydzek were able to run into the hole. Of this leading trio, the German turned out to be the strongest runner and finally won 47 seconds or 1:03 ahead of Jelenko and Nurmsalu. Rydzek spoke of a perfect race after the competition. Nurmsalu announced that he got a little nervous as Wendel got closer, but after the 3rd lap it was 90% clear to him that he would not catch up with him. The mentioned Wendel had the fastest cross-country skiing time with almost 20 seconds ahead of the Austrians Rehrl and Schneider. For the medal winners, the 9th (Rydzek), 18th (Jelenko) and 33rd (Nurmsalu) running times were enough for their success. One runner did not step, three of the 57 participants who started did not reach the finish.

As already two days before, Nurmsalu emerged again as the jumping winner. This time the lead over Jelenko was 10 seconds and 30 seconds over third-placed Austrian Brandner. Rydzek was already 50 seconds behind the Estonian in 5th place, the other strong runners were already too far behind the medal ranks to be dangerous again on the short distance. Halfway through the race, Rydzek was still 21 seconds behind the now leading duo Jelenko / Nurmsalu. At the beginning of this second round, Jelenko was able to break away from Nurmsalu and did not give up this lead. Nurmsalu was left standing on the last slope by Rypdzek and was able to secure the silver medal. The fastest in cross-country skiing was again Ole Christian Wendel, who finished 28th, 20 seconds ahead of Rydzek and the American Nick Hendrickson. Jelenko ran fastest on the 11th, Nurmsalu would have been 37th in cross-country skiing. Nurmsalu celebrated his third bronze medal within three days, according to his own statements, with a glass of apple juice, as he had to compete with the Estonian team in the ski jumpers the next day. 59 athletes completed the jumping, one of them no longer started cross-country skiing and one combined athlete ended cross-country skiing prematurely.

The team competition was scheduled for January 30, 2011, but had to be canceled.

Stefan Kraft secured himself the title of vice world champion with a hill record in the second round, so it was already clear before the team competition that the series of the ÖSV would continue, which has won at least one medal at every junior world championship in ski jumping since 1988. Gold went to the favorite Wladimir Sografski from Bulgaria, who was already World Cup experienced, and thus crowned himself the first Nordic Bulgarian junior world champion. The third place of the local hero Kaarel Nurmsalu was a big surprise, the actual combiner also secured the bronze medal in this sport the day before. "I didn't expect that. Tomorrow is actually my day with the combination. I thought maybe I'll make it into the top ten. I just wanted to try the special jumping," said the surprise man. The world cup experienced Richard Freitag disappointed a bit with the 9th place. Overall, there were jumpers from ten nations among the top 12. 68 participants came into the evaluation, two jumpers were disqualified.

After several postponements due to the strong wind, the defending champion quartet from Austria prevailed as expected with 920.5 points, relatively just ahead of the strong DSV team. After the first round, the German quartet was 24 points ahead. "It was good not to have jumped in the individual. I was really sick. That makes the title with the team all the better, which we hadn't really taken into account. We made up 24 points in the second round, that's sport," he said meanwhile three-time junior world champion Michael Hayböck. A small surprise was the third place of the Norwegian team, which just managed to prevail against the favored Poles. The Finnish team was disappointing, finishing 50 points behind a podium in 7th place. A total of 12 nations registered a team for this jumping.

Coline Mattel, the favorite, won the competition, for the French woman, who turned 15 in November 2010, it was the second junior world championship medal in her career after silver in the previous year. The Japanese Yūki Itō reached after 93 meters in the first round and the associated fifth place with 99 in the second, the daily maximum and the jump on the podium. Second place went to the Slovenian Špela Rogelj, who thus held her place from the first round. It is noticeable that all medal winners were born in 94 or younger and none of the major ski jumping nations such as Norway, Austria, Germany or Finland were on the podium. 50 participants came into the evaluation, one jumper was disqualified.
