Until 2010, Cologna took part in junior races. He made his World Cup debut in December 2010 in Davos , which he finished with 88th place in the sprint. From 2010 to 2013 he mainly competed in the Alpine Cup. The 20th place in the overall ranking was his best placement in the 2012/13 season. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme , he reached the 27th place in the sprint. At the 2013 Swiss Championships in Sedrun , he won gold in the sprint. In December 2013, in the 2013/14 World Cup season , he won his first World Cup podium with third place in the sprint in Asiago . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he finished fifth in the team sprint together with his brother Dario . He finished the 2013/14 World Cup season in 57th place in the overall standings and 21st place in the sprint standings. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun , he achieved 27th place in the sprint and 15th place in the team sprint. His best individual World Cup result in the 2017 season was 23rd place in the skiathlon in Pyeongchang . In March 2017 he was third in the relay and second in the sprint at the Swiss championships in Val Müstair .
